Nov 13,20241. Put the correct posture . The placement of the computer and keyboard must be adapted to your body posture, not the other way around. When adjusting the computer, refer to the content in Part 1 of this article to ensure that your body posture is correct.
2. Confirm the type of computer you are using. The display screen and keyboard of a desktop computer are separated, while the screen of a laptop computer is usually directly connected to the keyboard. The display and keyboard of a desktop computer can generally be adjusted, while the adjustments that can be done on a laptop computer are limited.
If the display cannot be adjusted, consider buying a stand or other tool with similar effects.
Purchase a tiltable laptop stand to adjust the tilt of the keyboard while keeping the screen flat.
3. There must be a space of 10-15 cm from the keyboard to the edge of the table. No matter what kind of computer you are using, there must be enough space at the edge of the keyboard and table to allow your arms and wrists to maintain a natural posture.
If the table is too small, consider moving the chair back or tilting it back slightly.
4. Adjust the height and tilt of the display screen. Ideally, the display should be flush with the eyes, but in reality it is often difficult to do this. You may need to tilt the display up or down to avoid neck and eye strain.
Try to adjust the top of the display to a position 5-8 cm higher than your eyes.
If you wear bifocals, adjust the display down to a level where your eyes can read comfortably.
5. Adjust the tilt of the keyboard. The shoulders should be relaxed and the hands, wrists and forearms should be at the same level. If you cannot do this while maintaining the correct posture, you may need to tilt the keyboard down or lower its overall height.
You should be able to adjust the tilt of the desktop computer's keyboard according to your sitting posture. Use the keyboard stand or feet to adjust the tilt.
The tilt of the laptop keyboard is basically not adjustable, but the tilted laptop stand may play a role.
6. Avoid using wrist rests or wrist pads. Unless the keyboard is much higher than the desktop, the wrist rest or wrist pad will affect the correct posture of the arm, causing muscle fatigue and injury.
The wrist rest can also hinder blood circulation in the hands.
7. All commonly used items must be placed at the same level nearby. The keyboard, mouse, pens, documents, and other utensils should be at the same level, such as flush with the desktop, and within reach. This way you can get them without changing your posture.
